The Athletes Committee

Mission

The Athletes Committee, affiliated to the International Olympic Committee, aims to represent athletes in Olympic Movement decision-making processes and support their sporting and non-sporting careers.

Vision

To ensure that the athletes' viewpoint remains at the heart of the Olympic Movement decisions and to ensure they reflect the visions of future, current and retired Olympic athletes.

Key responsibilities

  • Taking athletes’ opinions into consideration in decision-making processes of sports organizations
  • A platform for discussion and research on new ideas and issues
  • Providing advice and tips directly to other athletes
  • Promoting connections between athletes

Objectives

  • Empowering athlete representation in decision-making processes
  • Supporting athlete development in their sporting and technical careers.
  • Representing athletes and solving their issues
