Mohammad Yousef Al-Mana, born on January 1, 1954, in Doha, Qatar, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Internal Security Forces Science from the College of Internal Security Forces in Riyadh, earned in 1979. Married and deeply committed to his roles, Al-Mana’s career reflects a broad scope of responsibilities across national security, public service, and international sports leadership.
Al-Mana’s distinguished career in Qatar's Ministry of Interior began in 1976, where he quickly ascended through the ranks, holding positions such as Deputy Director of Emergency Police and later, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department. He played key roles in several national committees, such as chairing the project for the technical and periodic inspection of vehicles in Qatar. Additionally, his public service extended to being a member of the Qatari Shura Council (2021-2024) and chairing the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee during this period. He also received a letter of appreciation from the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior in 1996 for his efforts in organizing Milipol Qatar.
Since 1998, he has served as President of the Qatar Weightlifting Federation, a position that expanded in 2001 to include bodybuilding. His influence grew as he took on the presidency of the Asian Weightlifting Federation in 2011 and the Afro-Asian Weightlifting Council in 2012. Additionally, Al-Mana serves as a member of the Executive Board of the International Weightlifting Federation and the Union of Arab Olympic Committees. His continuous leadership was further reinforced when he was elected as Vice-President of the Qatar Olympic Committee from 2021 to 2024.
Al-Mana’s contributions to sports go beyond Qatar. He has been President of the Arab Weightlifting Federation since 2013 and the Qatar Weightlifting Federation for several consecutive terms, including the 2021-2024 period. His influence extends to the international stage, where he remains active on several executive boards, guiding the development of weightlifting and sports across Asia and Africa.
