Doha: Qatar's national tennis and squash teams have launched their winter training camps, which will span two weeks in Egypt, Morocco, and Bahrain. These camps are designed to enhance the players' readiness for upcoming international competitions, improve their technical skills, and boost their physical fitness.
In Cairo, Egypt, the squash teams are undergoing an intensive training program that includes various age groups, ranging from Under-9 to Under-19. Alongside them, the tennis teams are conducting a camp for the Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 age categories, focusing on both technical and physical development.
Meanwhile, in Morocco, a specialized winter training camp for girls in tennis is underway. This program emphasizes technical drills, physical conditioning, and friendly matches to elevate the players’ competitive skills and overall performance.
In Bahrain, a boys' tennis camp for the Under-10 age group is being held. The camp aims to refine the skills of young players, develop their talents, and prepare them for participation in the Gulf Juniors Festival.
Khalid Al-Khelaifi, a member of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation Board of Directors and the Head of the National Teams Committee, highlighted the significance of these camps. He stated that they play a vital role in building strong teams capable of achieving tangible success in regional and international tournaments.
“We are focused on developing players through intensive training that strengthens their capabilities and addresses their weaknesses,” Al-Khelaifi said. “These camps are an ideal opportunity to achieve our goals.”
This initiative reflects the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation's commitment to nurturing national talents and ensuring their readiness for participation in upcoming local and international championships.
