Team Qatar Volleyball Win Silver Medal at GCC Games Doha 2026

Doha: Team Qatar men’s volleyball team won the silver medal at the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026, currently taking place in Doha until May 22 under the slogan “One Gulf, One Heart.”

Team Qatar secured silver after losing to Bahrain in straight sets by 25-21, 27-25, and 25-23 in the final match held today at Aspire Women’s Sports Hall during the third and final round of the competition.

The match witnessed strong competition between the two sides, but Bahrain managed to maintain the upper hand and win all three sets to secure the gold medal, while Team Qatar finished second to claim silver.

Team Qatar had enjoyed an impressive campaign after opening the tournament with consecutive straight-set victories over Oman and the UAE before falling to Bahrain in the final round.

In another match, Oman claimed the bronze medal after defeating the UAE three sets to one in the concluding round of the competition.

Team Qatar had won gold at the previous edition of the GCC Games in Kuwait in 2022 after defeating the UAE in straight sets, while Bahrain raised their tally to three gold medals in GCC Games history.
