Qatar Beach Volleyball Team Ends Participation in Elite16 – Hamburg

Hamburg-  (QNA) - The Qatari men's beach volleyball team of duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmad Tijan finished their participation in the Elite16 - Hamburg- 2023 Beach Volleyball Tournament which ends on Monday.

The Qatari duo played their last match in the tournament against the Brazilian duo Andre Stein and George Wanderley who won the match with two clean sets, 21-18 and 21-16.

The Qatari team is currently ranked in the 3rd place in world ranking after collecting 6580 points in 11 world tournaments.

Qatar, winners of the bronze medal in the men's beach volleyball in Tokyo Olympics 2020, had many distinguished results in recent years, led by duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmad Tijan who presented dazzling levels and placed the national team among the first teams in the world rankings.

For his part, the President of Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) and the West Asian Volleyball Association (WAVA), Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari participated in the third meeting of the heads of regional federations held by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) via visual communication technology.

Al Kuwari presented In his speech during the meeting the latest developments in the WAVA.

The meeting discussed updates on the volleyball calendar during the period from 2025 to 2028, the FIVB referees' courses, decisions taken during the FIVB Board of Directors and many other topics.
