Team Qatar set to kick off their Handball World Championship campaign against France

Basel: The IHF Men’s World Championship is just around the corner with Sunday, 6 October 2024, marking the start of the home run stretch before the throw-off of the Championship, due to take place in five venues in Croatia, Denmark and Norway.

The scene has been set for the start of the competition, with the countdown starting for the two opening matches, which will take place on 14 January 2025 between Italy and Tunisia in the Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning, as well as between France and Qatar, in the Žatika Sport Centre in Poreč.

Over the last few months, everything has been set for the start, as the schedule has been revealed, as well as the official mascot of the competition, which has been revealed to be a fox, as it stood out as the most unique animal habited in all three countries.

The 29th IHF Men's World Championship will also be the first one in history to be hosted in three countries, after the two editions in 2019 and 2023 were the two which were hosted by two countries.
