Ismailia: Team Qatar shone at the WTT Youth Contender Ismailia 2024, securing two gold medals and a silver as the tournament concluded on Friday.
Ahmed Eid of Team Qatar claimed gold in the U-17 singles competition, defeating Egypt’s Saif El-Din Kassem in a commanding final (3-0), with set scores of (11-7), (11-7), and (11-6).
Meanwhile, Youssef Abdullah brought home the gold in the U-15 singles, overcoming Egypt's Sayed Abdel Malek in another decisive match (3-0), with scores of (11-9), (11-7), and (11-9).
Adding to the team’s success, Abdulaziz Al-Abbad won a silver medal in the U-13 singles, finishing as runner-up after a close match against Egypt’s Aser Sameh (0-3), with set scores of (14-12), (11-4), and (13-11).
The tournament saw strong international participation, including teams from Egypt, Luxembourg, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Libya, Malaysia, Palestine, Iraq, India, Algeria, UAE, Jordan, Austria, Kenya, and South Africa.
