Al Tamimi secures semi-final spot in QSF 5 Open 2024

Doha: Qatar's squash star Abdulla Al Tamimi has advanced to the semi-finals of the QSF 5 Open 2024, a Bronze-level event set to conclude on Sunday. Al Tamimi, the reigning champion, delivered a dominant performance in his quarter-final match against Britain’s Ben Smith, securing victory in just 25 minutes with scores of 11-5, 11-7, 11-7.

The Qatari ace will face Egypt's Ali Abu Al-Enein in the semi-finals. Abu Al-Enein earned his spot after overcoming compatriot Mohamed Abouelghar in a closely contested match, winning three sets to one.

Al Tamimi began his campaign in the tournament with an emphatic win in the round of 16, defeating Welshman Eimear Evans in straight sets.

Meanwhile, Egypt's Tarek Momen, the tournament’s top seed and ranked ninth globally, also reached the semi-finals. Momen defeated Japan's Renyosuke Tsuki in four sets (11-9, 11-5, 9-11, 11-2) and will face Colombia's Miguel Rodriguez, the tournament’s third seed, in the other semi-final clash.

The semi-finals promise thrilling matchups as top players vie for the title.
