DOHA – The Qatar Olympic Committee Ramadan Tournament 2025 got underway in spectacular fashion on Sunday evening at Lusail International Shooting Complex, uniting the QOC employees, their families, and Qatar’s guests from Palestine. Running from March 9 to 18, the tournament features exhilarating competitions in shooting, Padel and beach volleyball.
A total of 25 shooters participated in the men's shooting competitions on Sunday, where Khalid Nasser Al-Rumaihi secured first place in the individual shotgun and air rifle events, while Abdulhadi Mohsen Al-Shahwani claimed second place.
In the men’s family team competition, Abdulhadi Mohsen Al-Shahwani and Khalifa Mohsen Al-Shahwani took first place, while Mana Ahmed Al-Jaal and Hamad Ahmed Al-Jaal finished second.
The men’s Padel competition will begin today , featuring eight teams from various departments, sections, and units. The women’s shooting competition will also commence on the same day, promising an atmosphere of intense competition and camaraderie, reinforcing the principle of "Sports for All."
This prestigious tournament is organized in collaboration with the Qatar Shooting & Archery Association, 1-2-3 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, Al Thumama Complex – Qatar’s Guests from Palestine, and the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Development and Family and Naseem Medical Center.
The tournament continues with the men’s Padel competition today , bringing together employees from various QOC departments in a thrilling display of team spirit and competitive excellence. Meanwhile, the men’s volleyball tournament, scheduled for March 15–18, follows an exciting group-stage format, with teams vying for victory in an atmosphere of camaraderie and sportsmanship.
Mr. Salah Al-Saadi, Assistant Director of Sports Events Management at QOC, highlighted the tournament’s profound role in strengthening bonds and fostering inclusivity through sports: “This tournament is more than just competition; it is a platform for connection, energy, and positive engagement. It nurtures a culture of teamwork, unity, and well-being within the QOC community.”
For his part , Mr. Mana Ahmed Al-Jaal, Director of the Ramadan Tournament, emphasized: “Beyond sports, this event celebrates the values of togetherness and harmony during the holy month. It brings colleagues closer, inspiring a balance of health, enjoyment, and human connection.”
Similarly, Ms. Noora Al-Rahma, Head of the Support Services Committee, underscored the tournament’s commitment to inclusivity and empowerment: “The essence of this tournament lies in strengthening social ties and championing the concept of ‘Sports for Life.’ We are particularly committed to encouraging women’s active participation in community sports.”
