Thrilling action continues at Al Shaqab International League

Doha: The second edition of the Al Shaqab International League resumed today with the third round unfolding at the Longines Indoor Arena at Al Shaqab. Over three intense days of competition, top riders have been battling fiercely for qualification spots at the FEI Group VII Championship.


The day's events began with the Future Riders competition over a height of 105 cm, where Khalid Nasser Al Khater delivered a stellar ride aboard Baccarat D'Azur to claim victory in 32.44 seconds. Yousef Abdulrahman Al Muftah came in a close second on Croat Van Orchids, clocking 32.58 seconds, while Fawaz Al Hokair secured third on Cool Casino with a time of 39.98 seconds. Strong performances from Mohammed Abdullah Al Owais, Sultan Jassim Al Suwaidi, and Noura Abdulaziz Al Rumaithi rounded out the top six.


In the Young Champions class at 115 cm, Saheem Hamad Al Yafei impressed on Jammin Ray, posting the fastest time of 33.62 seconds to take first place. Ibrahim Khalid Al Kuwari finished second with Flexibel Z in 35.21 seconds, followed by Ahmed Ali Al Jaber riding Morocco at 35.63 seconds. Honoring the winners was Engineer Mohammed Al Atwan, Head of Operations at Old Doha Port.


The Open Class event at 115 cm also showcased fierce competition. Mohammed Hassan Al Hadi took the top spot with a lightning-fast round aboard Capone in 24.81 seconds. Fahad bin Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani followed in second on Hazel Deluxe with a time of 27.39 seconds, and Faris Saad Al Qahtani completed the podium on Hayden after clocking 27.46 seconds.


The action heated up in the Young Riders Champions round at 125 cm, where Essa Imran Al Owais secured first place on Miss Cooper with a clean and efficient round of 34.88 seconds. Yaqoub Nasser Al Mas came second aboard Lexus with 32.44 seconds, and Saif Mohammed Al Nuaimi finished third riding Hero in 32.61 seconds.


The day's highlight came in the Al Shaqab Champions round at 135 cm, where Ibrahim Youssef Al Mahmoud captured first place riding Catlia Plassai in 63.14 seconds. Mohammed Salem Al Marri claimed second with Nuance Van Het Groeshof after posting 68.12 seconds, while Saad Ahmed Al Saad rounded out the podium with a strong performance aboard Fashion De Duits in 69.92 seconds.
