Team Qatar Claim Two Golds, Two Bronzes at Kosovo International Table Tennis Tournament

Prishtina: Team Qatar made a strong impression at the Kosovo International Table Tennis Tournament, claiming a total of four medals—two gold and two bronze—thanks to standout performances by young stars Rabiah Al Kuwari and Rasha Laghribi.

The tournament, held in Prishtina as part of the WTT Youth Contender Series, attracted some of the most promising table tennis talents from across the globe.

Rabiah Al Kuwari delivered a thrilling performance to win gold in the boys' Under-11 category, edging out Sri Lanka’s Tavie Samaraweera 3–2 in a closely contested final (7–11, 11–9, 6–11, 12–10, 16–14). Al Kuwari added a bronze in the Under-13 category, competing above his age group—a testament to his growing skill and potential. He is a key member of the Qatar Table Tennis Association’s (QTTA) “Dream Team” development program.

In the girls' competition, Rasha Laghribi marked her international debut in style, capturing the Under-11 title after a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Greece’s Clio Madisi (9–11, 11–7, 9–11, 11–6, 11–9). She followed up with another strong showing in the Under-13 bracket, earning a bronze medal to cap off a remarkable first outing on the global stage.

These achievements highlight the success of QTTA’s strategy to nurture young talent through exposure to high-level international competition. The strong showing in Kosovo reinforces the promise of the “Dream Team” initiative and signals a bright future for Qatar’s rising table tennis stars.
