CASABLANCA - The Qatar U-11 team, represented by Rabia Al Kuwari, Mubarak Marzouq Al Mansouri, Ibrahim Al Sulaiti and Ahmed Nasser Abbad won the gold medal outperforming Syria, Kuwait, and Bahrain (whom they beat in the final 3-0). Libya won silver and UAE the bronze.
Qatar’s U-15 team comprising Sultan Al Kuwari, Ahmed Eid, Rawad Al Nasser and Youssef Abdul Zaher won silver medal losing to Bahrain in the final.
In the women’s category, the Qatar paddlers impressed taking the silver medal. The team included Aya Mohammed, Maryam Ali and Serena Sheikh, who all delivered a strong performance. Jordan won the gold while Kuwait claimed silver and Morocco bronze.
Qatar’s U-13 boys’ team of Abdulaziz Nasser Al Abdullah, Issa Ibrahim Al Haddad, and Mohammed Khalifa Al Sulaiti shared the bronze medal with Bahrain, which Saudi Arabia won the gold and UAE silver.
Qatar’s men’s team clinched bronze medal after strong competition with Saudi Arabia, which won the gold medal, and Bahrain, which claimed silver. Qatar’s team was represented by Mohammed Abdulwahab, Sultan Al Kuwari, Ahmed Eid, and Abdullah Abdulwahab.
The prize presentation ceremony was attended by Khalil Al Mohannadi, President of the Arab, Qatari, and Asian TT Federations and Vice President of ITTF.
With the conclusion of the team competitions, the singles and doubles events and the mixed doubles competitions will now begin. The championship concludes on Thursday.
