Team Qatar defeat Oman in West Asia Beach Volleyball Tour

Muscat: Team Qatar claimed a straight-sets victory over Oman today in the preliminary round of the 4th West Asia Beach Volleyball Tour for men and women, currently taking place in the Omani capital, Muscat, and continuing until October 23.

The Qatari men’s duo, Mahmoud Essam and Saif Al-Majid, delivered an impressive performance to defeat the home team 2–0, winning both sets convincingly 21–7 and 21–8.

In the women’s competition, Qatar’s team, represented by Haya Abu Issa and Leila Mohammed, also triumphed over Oman’s pair, Al-Shaimaa and Furat, in straight sets 21–17 and 21–6 after a composed and dominant display.

The Qatari teams aim to maintain their strong form and achieve top results in the upcoming rounds, building on their recent international success — most notably their title win at the Newport Beach Elite16 Tour in the United States, part of the FIVB Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 series.

These participations are part of the Qatar Volleyball Association’s strategic preparation plan for the 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championships, to be held in Adelaide, Australia, from November 14 to 23, featuring 48 of the world’s best national teams.

Team Qatar continues to strengthen its record of international and Olympic achievements, highlighted by the historic bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and a fourth-place finish at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
