Police SC Clinch Qatar Volleyball Cup Title

Doha: Police SC were crowned champions of the Qatar Volleyball Cup (2025–2026) after defeating Al Arabi 3–1 in the final held on Sunday, securing their third title in the competition’s history.

H.E. First Vice-President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Mohammed bin Yousef Al Mana, alongside Qatar Volleyball Association President Ali Ghanim Al Kuwari and Vice President of the Qatar Police Sports Federation, Col. Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Thani, presented the trophy, gold medals, and a prize of QAR 600,000 to the champions.

Al Arabi, who finished runners-up, received silver medals and QAR 400,000.

Police SC made a strong start, claiming the opening set (25–18) with an impressive display that combined powerful attacking play and solid blocking at the net. They maintained their momentum in the second set, overcoming Al Arabi’s attempts to respond and securing it (25–21).

Al Arabi bounced back in the third set, showing improved organization and effective blocking to reduce their opponents’ scoring opportunities, taking the set (25–21). However, Police SC regained control in the fourth set, delivering a composed performance to close out the match (25–21) and seal the title.

Following the final, H.E. Mohammed bin Yousef Al Mana praised the high technical level displayed by both teams, congratulating Police SC on their deserved victory while commending Al Arabi for their strong performance and competitive spirit.

He highlighted the growing popularity of volleyball in Qatar, noting that matches of this caliber reflect the continued development of the sport and contribute to increasing fan engagement.

For his part, Qatar Volleyball Association President Ali Ghanim Al Kuwari expressed satisfaction with the overall level of the Qatar Volleyball Cup and the domestic league, emphasizing that the steady rise in technical standards reflects the positive progress of volleyball in Qatar.

He added that predicting the outcome of the final was difficult, drawing parallels with the recent league season, which saw Al Arabi claim the title despite Al Wakrah being among the favorites.

Al Kuwari also expressed his expectation that HH the Amir Volleyball Cup will witness strong and competitive matches as the tournament reaches its quarterfinal stage, with all teams holding equal chances of claiming the title.
