Ammar Ismail Finishes Second in 400m at Hezekiel Sepeng Invitational

Johannesburg : Team Qatar sprinter Ammar Ismail secured second place in the 400m race yesterday at the Hezekiel Sepeng Invitational held in South Africa, which featured participation from a number of leading international track and field athletes.

Ammar clocked a time of 45.16 seconds, marking his season’s best performance, as part of his preparations for the upcoming Arab Athletics Championships scheduled to take place in Tunisia at the end of April.

The Qatari athlete, who won gold in the relay event at the 2025 Asian Championships, continues his preparations through a training camp in South Africa, where he is competing in several international one-day athletics meetings with the aim of improving his ranking with the international federation.

The event also saw Qatar’s Mohammed Kala record a new personal best in the 400m, posting a time of 46.43 seconds.
