QOC Secretary General Praises Strong Competitive Levels at GCC Games

Doha: H.E. Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, praised the strong level of competition witnessed at the 4th GCC Games currently taking place in Doha, highlighting the outstanding performances across the various sports among the GCC nations.

In a special statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) this evening, Al Buenain said that the 4th GCC Games are delivering highly competitive performances that fulfil the main objective of this major Gulf gathering. He also expressed his appreciation for the large number of male and female athletes from across the GCC countries participating and competing for podium finishes.

“We thank all our brothers from the GCC countries for their presence and participation in this important sporting event, which reflects the unity and solidarity among the peoples of the Gulf region,” Al Buenain said, adding that “the large turnout and participation from our Gulf brothers represent the greatest achievement for us in Qatar, and we sincerely thank them all for that.”

The Vice Chairman of the Organising Committee of the 4th GCC Games added: “We are also proud of the participation of this large number of athletes, and the message was clearly reflected during the opening ceremony through the strong Gulf presence in Qatar. As an organising committee, we aspire to elevate the standards of athletes ahead of Asian and international competitions. We believe that the GCC Games serve as an important platform for developing talents and preparing athletes for upcoming continental and international events.”

Al Buenain concluded his remarks by expressing the Organising Committee’s wishes for success to all participating teams, hoping they would deliver their best technical performances and achieve podium finishes.
