Samba Clocks Season’s Best at Xiamen Diamond League

Beijing, May 2026 – Qatar’s star hurdler Abderrahman Samba delivered his best performance of the season in the men’s 400m hurdles during the Xiamen Diamond League meeting in China, the second stop of the 2026 Diamond League season.

Samba posted a time of 47.93 seconds in a world-class field featuring some of the sport’s leading athletes. The race was won by Brazilian runner Alison dos Santos, who secured first place with a season-leading world time of 46.72 seconds in the Diamond League standings.

Norwegian Olympic champion Karsten Warholm finished second in 46.82 seconds, while American athlete Caleb Dean claimed third place with a time of 47.75 seconds. Samba crossed the line in fourth position.

Samba’s participation marked an important step in his return to top-level competition following his recent gold medal triumph at the 4th Gulf Games Doha 2026.

The Qatari athlete is set to compete in several upcoming Diamond League meetings this season as part of his preparations for the 2026 Asian Games, scheduled to take place in Nagoya, Japan, this October.
