Team Qatar Advance to West Asia Men's Volleyball Semifinals

MUSCAT – Qatar’s men’s volleyball team have secured their place in the semifinals of the Second West Asia Men’s Volleyball Championship, currently taking place in Muscat, Oman, after recording a second consecutive victory in Group A.

The defending champions delivered another commanding performance, defeating Kuwait in straight sets with scores of 28-26, 25-16, and 25-14 to strengthen their position at the top of the group standings.

Qatar had earlier opened their title defense with an impressive three-sets-to-one victory over Syria, underlining their strong start to the tournament, which continues until July 22.

The latest triumph confirmed Qatar’s qualification for the semifinals alongside Kuwait, as the team continues its pursuit of retaining the title they won in the inaugural edition of the championship.

The second edition features seven teams, with Group A consisting of Qatar, Kuwait, and Syria, while Group B includes hosts Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Lebanon.
