The 20th Asian Games will be staged in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya, Japan, from 19 September to 4 October 2026, bringing together athletes from 45 Asian National Olympic Committees for one of the continent’s foremost multi-sport events.

The sports programme will feature 43 sports and 71 disciplines, comprising a total of 469 medal events to be held across 53 competition venue According to the official Games plan, Aichi-Nagoya 2026 will prioritize a safe and comfortable environment for athletes, make extensive use of existing venues and introduce temporary facilities where required. Modern technologies will also support competition management, transport operations and safety procedures. Sustainability measures include the use of a cruise ship as part of the accommodation plan and the production of selected medals using recycled metals.

Team Qatar will be represented by 243 athletes competing across 26 sports. The delegation will enter the Games with the ambition of delivering strong performances in both individual and team events and reinforcing Qatar’s presence in Asian sport.
