60,000Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor draws its identity from the bayt al sha’ar, the traditional tent associated with Qatar’s Bedouin heritage. Its striped exterior, red seating bowl and Al Sadu-inspired details create a strong cultural character, while a retractable roof helps regulate temperature and enhance the atmosphere inside the venue. With a capacity of 60,000, the stadium hosted the opening ceremony and first match of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as well as a semi-final. Its legacy plan includes dismantling the upper tier and donating seating to support sports infrastructure in developing countries.
