The International Olympic Committee paid tribute to the Qatar Olympic Committee on 23rd July 2012 for its contribution to the "Giving is Winning" campaign, ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The campaign aimed to collect at least 100,000 items of sports and casual clothes for refugees and displaced people in UNHCR camps in various parts of the world. In all, 75,000 items of clothing were collected.
