Sanya, China, – HE President of the Olympic Council of Asia and President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani met with senior Chinese officials on the sidelines of his visit to Sanya, including HE Secretary of the Communist Party of China for the Hainan Provincial Committee Feng Fei, HE Governor of Hainan Province Liu Xiaoming, and HE Secretary of the CPC for the Sanya Municipal Committee Wang Qiyang.
The meeting reviewed the longstanding cooperation between the Olympic Council of Asia, the Qatar Olympic Committee and the People's Republic of China in the field of sport, while exploring avenues to further strengthen this partnership in support of the Asian Olympic Movement. The two sides also exchanged views on a number of issues of shared interest.
During the meeting, HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality, commending China’s pivotal contribution to the advancement and continued support of sport across the Asian continent.
