Ahmedabad, India – The Qatar men’s volleyball team will launch its campaign at the 2026 Asian Men’s Volleyball Cup with a clash against Oman on Saturday as the continental championship gets underway in Ahmedabad, India.
Qatar enter the tournament with high ambitions after completing an extensive preparation programme that included a training camp in Ahmedabad, serving as the final phase of the team’s build-up ahead of the competition. The coaching staff has focused on maximizing the players’ physical, technical and mental readiness in pursuit of a strong showing on the continental stage.
The Qatar squad features Mubarak Dahi, Mubarak Mousa, Yousif Ghalaf, Yousif Al Yafei, Bilal Abounbout, Abdullah Naseem, Mehdi Samoud, Naji Mahmoud, Ghanem Al Rumaihi, Renan, Nikola, Milos and Papi.
Drawn in a highly competitive Pool B, Qatar will face South Korea, Pakistan, Indonesia, Thailand and Oman in the group stage.
Following their opening match against Oman, Qatar will take on Thailand on 21 June before facing Indonesia a day later. The team will then conclude its group-stage schedule with a key encounter against South Korea on 26 June.
The tournament represents an important opportunity for Qatar to continue its progress at the Asian level, with the team targeting a place in the knockout rounds and a strong run in the competition.
