Overview

The federation emerged in the early 2000s and gained international visibility through the Tour of Qatar, a prestigious UCI race staged from 2002 to 2016. The event gave Qatar valuable experience in road-race delivery and elite team operations.

The 2016 UCI Road World Championships in Doha were the first in the Middle East and brought around 1,000 athletes from 75 countries. The federation later expanded into triathlon with the T100 World Championship Final in Lusail in 2025.

Current plans focus on community participation, youth development, and competitive preparation for Doha 2030.
