Federation
Overview

The federation began as a golf association in 1991 and expanded through links with regional and international golf bodies. Doha Golf Club opened in 1997 as Qatar’s first grass course, while Education City Golf Club added a modern 33-hole facility in 2018.

The Qatar Masters has been staged since 1998 and remains the federation’s flagship professional event on the DP World Tour. Qatar also regularly hosts GCC competitions across senior and youth categories.

Development work now focuses on grassroots programmes, junior competitions, and using world-class facilities to widen participation.
