QatarParalympic Committee
The Qatar Paralympic Committee has led para-sport development since 1994 and delivered three Paralympic medals across Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. It also strengthened Qatar’s hosting profile through the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships, one of the largest para-sport events staged in the region.

Overview
The committee oversees para-athletics, swimming, table tennis, goalball, powerlifting, boccia, and wheelchair basketball. Qatar’s Paralympic debut at Atlanta 1996 opened the path for wider international participation.
At Rio 2016, Abdulrahman Abdulqadir won shot put silver in F34 and Sara Hamdi Masoud became the first Qatari female Paralympic medallist with silver in F33. Abdulqadir added bronze at Tokyo 2020, becoming one of Qatar’s most successful para-athletes.
The committee’s current work focuses on access, inclusion through schools and clubs, and competitive preparation for the Asian Para Games in 2030.
