DUBAI – Qatar's youth handball team is set to meet Bahrain today in the final of the 2026 UAE International Youth Handball Championship at Shabab Al Ahli Club Hall in Dubai, with the championship match scheduled for 6:15 p.m. UAE time.
The final crowns a remarkable run by the Qatari youth squad, which is determined to finish the tournament on a high by lifting the title and building valuable momentum ahead of the Asian Men's Youth Handball Championship in China, which serves as the qualification pathway to the 2027 IHF Men's Youth World Championship in North Macedonia.
Qatar-Bahrain encounters have long been renowned for their competitiveness and technical excellence, with both teams boasting exceptional talent and closely matched abilities.
Despite the friendly status of the tournament, both coaching staffs view the match as an important opportunity to evaluate player readiness, sharpen tactical systems, and maximize technical gains before entering official continental and international competition. Qatar's outstanding physical and mental displays during the preliminary phase suggest the stage is set for a captivating championship clash.
