The Qatar Shooting and Archery Association connects a deep national tradition of precision and marksmanship with modern Olympic sport. Its record is led by Nasser Al-Attiyah’s London 2012 skeet bronze, while Qatar’s hosting of the 2026 ISSF World Championship will mark another major milestone.

Overview
Established in 1978, the association grew from a traditional and military-linked base into the official national body for shooting and archery. Lusail Shooting Range remains its main training and competition venue, supporting year-round preparation across precision disciplines.
Nasser Al-Attiyah gives the association a distinctive global profile, having competed in six Olympic Games in shooting while also building a world-class motorsport career. Rashid Al Athba’s 2022 World Championship bronze further strengthened Qatar’s presence in skeet.
The 2026 ISSF World Championship will support the association’s broader work in youth development, archery growth, and international event delivery.
