Overview

Since 1977, the association has developed national competitions, athletes, coaches, and officials while maintaining close ties with the ITTF and Asian Table Tennis Union. Khalil Al Mohannadi’s international and Asian leadership roles give Qatar additional influence in the sport.

Qatar hosted the 2004 World Team Championships, the first such event in the Middle East, and has continued to stage major international events. The 2025 World Championships Finals in Lusail gathered 353 players from 69 federations.

The association’s development priorities focus on junior and senior national teams, high-level competition exposure, and long-term preparation for Asian and Olympic events.
