Bratislava, Slovakia, July 23 – Qatar's Bassem Mohammed claimed victory in the men's 400m hurdles at the TIPOS Bratislava International Athletics Meeting, held in Slovakia, following an outstanding performance against a world-class field of athletes from across the continents.
Bassem crossed the finish line in 48.10 seconds to secure the gold medal, finishing ahead of Japan's Kurokawa Kawasaki, who clocked 48.71 seconds, while Austria's Daniel Stromayer took third place in 49.18 seconds.
The winning time of 48.10 seconds marks Bassem's season-best performance in 2026, underlining his excellent form ahead of a busy international calendar.
His participation in the Bratislava meeting forms part of the Qatar Athletics Federation's preparations to enhance the competitive readiness of the national team ahead of the Asian Games, scheduled to take place this September.
