Qatar Curling Team lose to China in Asian Winter Games

Beijing: Team Qatar Curling fell 1-11 to China in their group-stage match at the 9th Asian Winter Games – Harbin 2025, currently taking place in China and running until February 14.

Team Qatar’s squad featured Abdulrahman Al-Yafei, Ahmed Al-Fahad, Nasser Al-Yafei, and Mohammed Al-Nuaimi.

Earlier in the competition, Team Qatar began their campaign with a 10-4 victory over Saudi Arabia but later suffered a 2-12 defeat against Japan.

In the women's competition, Team Qatar endured two losses today, falling 0-14 to China and 1-12 to Japan.

The women’s curling squad includes Fatima Al-Fahad, Husseina Al-Fahad, Amina Al-Qaite, and Dana Al-Fahad.

Looking ahead, Team Qatar’s men’s squad will take on Hong Kong tomorrow, while the women’s squad is set to face Chinese Taipei and Kazakhstan.

Team Qatar athletes are competing in four sports at the Games: Curling, Short Track Speed Skating, Alpine Skiing, and Ski Mountaineering.

The 9th Asian Winter Games – Harbin 2025 features a record-breaking 1,275 athletes (755 men and 520 women) representing 34 National Olympic Committees from across Asia.
