Nagoya, Japan - The Qatar delegation participating in the 20th Asian Games – Aichi-Nagoya 2026 yesterday celebrated the achievement of the national shooting team after they claimed two gold medals in the men’s skeet events, at both team and individual levels, adding another achievement to Qatar’s sporting record at the Games.

The celebration, held at Bayt Qatar in Nagoya, was attended by H.E. Mohammed bin Yousef Al-Mana, First Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, and H.E. Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, alongside members of Qatar’s national shooting team.

The celebration followed an outstanding performance by the Qatari team of Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah, Rashid Saleh Al Athba and Ali Ahmed Al Ishaq, who claimed gold in the men’s team skeet event with 353 points. Kuwait finished second to take silver with 348 points, while India secured bronze with 346 points.

The delegation also celebrated Rashid Saleh Al Athba’s outstanding individual achievement after he won gold in the men’s individual skeet event, setting a new Asian record of 34 points and completing a double gold in the individual and team events.

The two shooting gold medals took Team Qatar’s tally at Aichi-Nagoya 2026 to four medals , two gold, one silver and one bronze ,  following the two medals won by the national karate team in previous days. Team Qatar athletes continue to compete across a range of events, with hopes of adding further medals in the coming days.
