Qatar lose to Iran in Asian Men's Youth Handball Championship

Amman, September 18, 2018- Qatar's handball team suffered a 26-25 defeat at the hands of their Iranian counterparts in the first round of Asian Men's Youth Handball Championship, currently taking place in Jordan.

The competition also serves as a qualifier to next year's world cup in Macedonia.

In their third match to be staged on Tuesday, Qatar will take on Japan.

Head of the team's delegation Khalifa Tayseer said, “We have a crucial match today against Japan but the Qatari players are able to bounce back and qualify to the second round.
