Aichi-Nagoya, Japan – In the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Olympic Council of Asia, Qatar’s national 3x3 basketball team claimed the silver medal at the 20th Asian Games – Aichi-Nagoya 2026 after losing 19–10 to South Korea in the final.

Team Qatar produced a strong and consistent campaign on their path to the final, opening the competition with four consecutive victories, including wins over Indonesia and Chinese Taipei. They maintained their momentum in the knockout stages, overcoming Bahrain in the Round of 16 before defeating Mongolia in the quarter-finals to book their place in the semi-finals against Iran.

The Qatari side continued their impressive run by defeating Iran to reach the gold-medal match, where they faced South Korea. Despite a determined effort, Team Qatar were unable to overcome their opponents and ultimately finished the competition with the silver medal.

Reaching the final and securing silver marked a significant achievement for Qatar in a highly competitive 3x3 basketball tournament. Team Qatar successfully negotiated every stage of the competition, overcoming a series of strong opponents on their way to the gold-medal match.
