Team Qatar qualify for main round
Greece: Qatar's national beach handball team qualified for the main round of the 2022 IHF Men’s Beach Handball World Championships after beating New Zealand 2-0 in their final group match on Wednesday.
Brazil led group D standings with three wins from three, Qatar finish second and Portugal in third.
The 16 teams participating in event are split into four groups of four teams each with the top three in each group qualifying through to two main round groups of six teams each.
The top four in each main round group then progress through to the quarterfinals, followed by semi-finals and then medal matches.
Qatar secured their place in the world championships after claiming the second place in the 8th Asian Beach Handball Championships held in Tehran in March 2022.
