Singapore: Team Qatar will participate in the eighth edition of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup, taking place in Singapore from March 26 to 30, 2025. The prestigious tournament is regarded as one of Asia’s biggest basketball events, bringing together 48 teams from across the continent in both the men's and women's competitions.
Before the main tournament tips off, a qualification round will be held on March 26 and 27, during which a draw will determine the final shape of the group stage matchups.
Team Qatar have been placed in Group D of the main round, where they will face New Zealand and a third team that will emerge from the qualifiers. It promises to be a tough group, but Qatar’s players are determined to push for a spot in the later rounds and make a strong statement in the competition.
The group stage will see Mongolia, Singapore, and a qualifier team in Group A, while China, Chinese Taipei, and a qualifier will compete in Group B. Group C features Japan, Australia, and another team advancing from the preliminary stage.
Qatar’s squad for the tournament includes Nadim Moussallem, Ahmed Saeed Mohammed, Elhadji Magassa, and Mohammed Hashem. They will begin their campaign on March 28, facing the qualifier team in their opening match before taking on New Zealand later the same day. The players know they are in for a challenging schedule but remain focused on giving their best and competing at the highest level.
