Doha: The table tennis competitions at the 4th GCC Games currently taking place in Doha and continuing until May 22 concluded today.
Team Qatar table tennis secured one gold and one silver medal in the women’s singles competition through Aya Mohammed and Mariam Ali respectively, after Aya defeated Mariam 3-1 in the final.
Qatar also claimed the silver medal in the men’s doubles competition through Mohammed Abdulwahab and Abdullah Abdulwahab after they lost 3-0 in the final to the Saudi duo Ali Al Khudrawi and Abdulaziz Boushalibi.
On Saturday, Team Qatar had won gold and bronze in the mixed doubles competition, as Mohammed Abdulwahab and Aya Mohammed captured the gold medal after defeating the UAE pair Ali Al Hawai and Noura Al Mazmi 3-0 in the final.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Abdulwahab and Mariam Ali secured the bronze medal after defeating Bahrain’s Rashid Khalid Sanad and Rayan Emad 3-0 in the third-place playoff.
In the men’s team competition, Team Qatar claimed third place and the bronze medal on the opening day of the tournament, raising Qatar’s overall tally in the competition to six medals — including two gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.
