Manama: Qatar’s national fencing team secured the gold medal in the team foil event at the Arab Fencing Championship, currently being held in Bahrain and set to conclude next Monday.
The Qatari team, comprising Ali Turki, Khalid Aref, and Abdullah Khalifa, clinched the gold after defeating Bahrain 45-30 in the final match.
With this victory, Qatar’s medal tally in the championship has risen to three medals: two golds and one silver. Yesterday, the team won the team épée gold through Mohammed Abdulali, Youssef Abdul Tawab, Abdulrahman Al-Jadra, and Ali Al-Khalifi. Additionally, Ali Turki Obeida claimed the silver medal in the men’s individual foil event.
