West Asia Beach Volleyball Tour Kicks Off with Qatar’s Men’s and Women’s Teams in Action

Amman, Jordan – Qatar’s men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams have begun their journey in the first-ever West Asia Beach Volleyball Tour, hosted by Jordan from 3 to 8 August, alongside leading teams from across the region competing in this exciting new regional championship.

Following the arrival of all participating delegations, the Organising Committee completed the official welcoming procedures, technical meeting, and tournament draw, setting the stage for a highly competitive week of beach volleyball action.

The competition is taking place at the Princess Aya Bint Faisal Beach Volleyball Courts at Al Hussein Youth City, with the venue fully prepared to deliver a world-class sporting experience and provide the best possible conditions for all participating teams.

Representing Qatar in the men’s competition are Musa Al Khair and Mohammed Ehab, while Leila Mohammed and Malak Mohammed carry Qatar’s hopes in the women’s event. Both teams are looking forward to testing themselves against strong regional opponents and gaining valuable competitive experience.

The tournament also features Qatar’s Mohammed Anbar as Chair of the Refereeing Committee, while Coach Tarek  Zakaria serves as Technical Secretary of the West Asia Volleyball Association.

The West Asia Beach Volleyball Tour forms an important part of Qatar’s national team development strategy, providing players with greater international exposure and helping raise technical standards ahead of future competitions.

Following the Jordan round, Qatar will continue its regional campaign at the second stage of the tour in Lebanon from 9 to 14 August, keeping the momentum alive across West Asia.

Meanwhile, volleyball cooperation across the region continues to grow, highlighted by the recent visit of Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari to Lebanon, where he was welcomed by Lebanese Volleyball Federation President Walid Al Qassouf during the opening ceremony of Houboub Sports Club’s festival.

The visit also coincided with the Lebanese Age Group Championship for the 2008 and 2009 categories, reinforcing collaboration between regional volleyball bodies and supporting the development of future generations of players.
