Aichi-Nagoya, Japan – Team Qatar concluded their swimming campaign at the 20th Asian Games – Aichi-Nagoya 2026, with Saad Eddin Saad Eddin producing the team’s standout performance by finishing sixth in the men’s 400m freestyle final.
Qatari swimmers competed in freestyle and butterfly events on Friday, with Saad Eddin securing his place in the 400m freestyle final after clocking 3:55.48 in the heats. He improved significantly in the final, touching the wall in 3:49.71 to finish sixth.
Team Qatar will continue their equestrian campaign at Aichi-Nagoya 2026 today, with Jassim Al Kuwari and Saud Al Buenain set to compete in the individual dressage competition after taking part in yesterday’s dressage event.
The competition provided the Qatari riders with an important opportunity to assess their readiness ahead of today’s individual event. Al Kuwari recorded a score of 65.559, while Al Buenain posted 66.412 on his Asian Games debut.
The individual dressage competition will see the top 15 riders advance to the final, with the Qatari pair aiming to deliver strong performances and secure their places in the medal-deciding round.
Al Kuwari expressed satisfaction with his performance yesterday, while emphasising that his main focus remains on today’s competition and achieving the best possible result.
Qatar’s beach volleyball pair Qatar 2, comprising Mousa Al Khair and Ehab Mohammed, will face Thailand in a decisive Group D encounter at the 20th Asian Games – Aichi-Nagoya 2026, with top spot in the group at stake.
The Qatari duo have already secured their place in the Round of 16 after defeating South Korea and Sri Lanka in their opening two matches. Today’s encounter will determine first and second place in the group.
Qatar 2 head into the match with confidence after producing two strong performances, showcasing excellent teamwork, attacking quality, defensive organisation and the ability to capitalise on their opponents’ mistakes.
With first place on the line, the Qatari pair will be determined to maintain their winning momentum, top the group and secure the best possible position heading into the knockout stage.
