Aichi-Nagoya - Team Qatar weightlifter Fares Ibrahim concluded his campaign at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, with a seventh-place finish in the men’s 95kg category.
Ibrahim recorded a combined total of 340kg, lifting 150kg in the snatch and 190kg in the clean and jerk.
Iran’s Ali Alipour claimed the gold medal with a total of 398kg, including 180kg in the snatch and 218kg in the clean and jerk. Kazakhstan’s Nurgissa Adiletuly secured silver with 394kg, while China’s Tu Yi took bronze after registering a total of 384kg.
Team Qatar will continue its weightlifting campaign today, with Wissal Yakhlef set to compete in the women’s 86kg category. She will be aiming to deliver a strong performance and make her mark at Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
