Aichi-Nagoya - Team Qatar continued their strong performances in the men’s volleyball competition at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, securing an important 3-0 victory over Vietnam in their second Group C match.

The victory confirmed Qatar’s qualification for the second round after they recorded their second consecutive win, following their opening victory over Hong Kong.

Qatar won the three sets 25-23, 28-26 and 25-19 in a competitive encounter that produced plenty of excitement, particularly in the opening two sets, before Team Qatar asserted their superiority in the third to complete the straight-sets victory.

Team Qatar began the opening set with strong focus as Vietnam remained competitive until the closing points. The score remained close and the lead changed hands several times, but Qatar handled the decisive moments well to take the set 25-23

Vietnam raised their level in the second set and pushed Qatar all the way to the closing points. Team Qatar, however, maintained their concentration and eventually prevailed 28-26 to establish a two-set lead.

Vietnam attempted to respond at the start of the third set, but Qatar were determined to close out the match. Team Qatar gradually imposed their rhythm and opened up a 17-12 advantage, benefiting from their concentration and organization across the court.

Despite Vietnam’s attempts to close the gap, Qatar maintained their advantage to seal the set and complete a 3-0 victory, confirming their place in the second round.

Qatar conclude their group-stage campaign today against India, with first place in Group C at stake. India have also won their opening two matches, setting up a crucial encounter between the two unbeaten sides.
