Nagoya - The Qatar delegation participating in the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 celebrated Team Qatar athletes who won medals over the past two days, in recognition of their achievements at the Games.
The celebration, held at Bayt Qatar in Nagoya, honoured Team Qatar weightlifter Ouissal Ikhlef, the Qatar national handball team and the shooting medallists from the men’s team trap and mixed trap events.
The celebration was attended by H.E. Mohammed bin Yousef Al-Mana, First Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, and H.E. Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, alongside a number of QOC officials and members of the Qatar delegation.
Ikhlef was honoured following her medal-winning performance in weightlifting, while the delegation also celebrated the Qatar national handball team after they reached the podium and claimed the silver medal.
Team Qatar’s shooting champions were also celebrated after Mohammed Al-Rumaihi, Saeed Hamad Abu Sharib and Angelo Scalzone claimed silver in the men’s team trap event, while Al-Rumaihi and Ray Bassil added another silver in the mixed trap event.
The celebration reflects the Qatar delegation’s commitment to recognising the achievements of Team Qatar athletes during Aichi-Nagoya 2026 and sharing their joy following their impressive performances and results across various competitions.
Bayt Qatar continues to serve as a gathering place for the Qatar delegation and athletes in Nagoya, while also showcasing Qatari culture and the journey of Qatari sport, from the Doha 2006 Asian Games to Qatar’s return as host of the Asian Games in Doha in 2030.
