Qatar to host the FIFA World Cup for the first time in the Middle East.
Celebrated every second Tuesday of February, the NSD is an initiative adopted after a 2011 decree by H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The inaugural NSD was held in 2012 and has been held annually ever since. Qatar is one of the only countries in the world to organize a National Sport Day through a paid day of leave, aiming to embed sporting values into Qatar’s culture and inspire local participation in sports.
An annual event by the Qatar Olympic Committee to celebrate Team Qatar’s achievements. It recognizes individuals who have excelled in Qatari sports and represented Qatar in tournaments, contributing to the QOC’s vision.
An annual event uniting the community through Team Qatar athletes. Held in December, participants carry the Qatari Flag across landmarks through various sporting activities, promoting unity and pride within the community.
