Federation
Overview

Since 1964, the federation has developed domestic competitions and national teams while integrating into Arab, Asian, and international basketball structures. Its work spans traditional basketball and the fast-growing 3x3 format.

Qatar won the 2005 FIBA Asia Championship at home and qualified for the 2006 World Championship. In 3x3, the national team won the 2014 world title and held the top global ranking for several years. The 2027 FIBA World Cup will now place Qatar at the centre of world basketball.

The federation is aligning programmes with FIBA standards and building competitive teams across age groups ahead of Doha 2030.
