Qatar Volleyball Association
The Qatar Volleyball Association develops both indoor and beach volleyball, with beach volleyball delivering a landmark Olympic bronze through Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan at Tokyo 2020. With Qatar preparing to host the FIVB Men’s World Championship in 2029, the sport now has both competitive and hosting momentum.

Overview
The association manages national teams, competitions, and technical programmes across indoor and beach volleyball. While the indoor programme has advanced steadily, beach volleyball has delivered Qatar’s strongest global results and placed the country among the sport’s leading contenders.
Younousse and Tijan’s Tokyo 2020 bronze gave Qatar its first Olympic volleyball medal, followed by Asian titles and a World Championship bronze. The indoor national team’s first World Championship appearance in 2022 added another important step to the sport’s development.
Hosting the 2029 Men’s World Championship offers a platform to grow participation, improve youth pathways, and expand women’s and beach volleyball programmes.
