Doha: Team Qatar padel team defeated Bahrain 3-0 today in their third match of the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026 at Aspire Dome courts.
In the opening match, the Qatari duo of Mishari Nawaf and Rashid Nawaf secured a straight-sets victory over Bahrain’s Yousif Qaed and Omar Qaed by 6-0 and 6-1.
In the second match, Qatar’s Khalid Saadoun and Essa Shanan defeated Bahrain’s Ahmed Khalid and Hussein Diwani in three sets by 6-0, 1-6, and 6-3.
In the third match, the Qatari pair of Mohammed Saadoun and Hassan Wali defeated Bahrain’s Ali Diwani and Rashid Al Obaidli in straight sets after Team Qatar won the opening set 6-0 before Bahrain withdrew from the second set due to Rashid Al Obaidli’s injury.
The victory marked Team Qatar’s third consecutive win in the tournament after opening their campaign with a 3-0 victory over Saudi Arabia before defeating Kuwait 2-1 in the second round.
Team Qatar will face the UAE tomorrow, Wednesday, in the final round of the padel competition, with the team aiming to secure victory and claim the gold medal.
Team Qatar padel had previously won gold at the last GCC Games held in Kuwait in 2022.
