Doha: Qatar shooting continued their impressive run on the second day of the shooting competitions at the 4th GCC Games currently taking place in Doha and running until May 22.
The Team Qatar shooting duo Abdullah Al Sunaidi and Al Maha Al Ali won the gold medal in the mixed team 10m air rifle event after finishing first in the final round. Oman’s Salem Al Nabi and Al Anoud Al Khalili secured the silver medal, while the UAE pair Fatima Al Suwaidi and Salem Al Yamahi claimed bronze.
In the mixed skeet team competition, the Qatari duo Rashid Saleh Al Athba and Reem Al Sharshani won the gold medal, while Kuwait’s Saud Al Kandari and Afrah Al Mohammad secured silver. Bahrain’s Tamer Al Watae and Maryam Al Aasam claimed the bronze medal.
Team Qatar shooting had already won nine medals on the opening day of the competition, including three gold, one silver, and five bronze medals, and is aiming to continue achieving further success in the remaining events of the Games.
With these results, Team Qatar shooting raised its overall tally to 11 medals, including five gold, one silver, and five bronze medals.
The shooting competitions at the 4th GCC Games will continue next Tuesday with the finals of the men’s and women’s trap individual events, before concluding next Wednesday with the mixed team trap final.
