Round 10 of Longines Hathab set to begin tomorrow
Doha : The tenth round of the Qatar Equestrian Tour, Longines Hathab, for the 2025–2026 season will get underway tomorrow (Thursday). The event is organized by the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Modern Pentathlon in partnership with Al Shaqab – a member of Qatar Foundation – and will run over three days at the main arena of the Qatar Equestrian Federation, with wide participation from riders competing across various showjumping classes.The competition program will begin at 5:00 PM tomorrow with the Amateur class at a height of 100cm, followed by the Silver class at 130cm at 7:30 PM.Competitions will continue the following day (Friday) with the Future Riders class for ages 6 to 12 at a height of 70cm, followed by the Gold class for both individual and team competitions at 140cm, and then the Open class at 110cm.The championship resumes after a break due to the Doha Equestrian Tour rounds, which featured 10 rounds with strong international participation from some of the world’s top-ranked riders, achieving notable success.The round will conclude next Saturday, with the Future Riders class (ages 12 to 16) at a height of 90cm, followed by the Bronze class for individuals and teams at 120cm, before wrapping up with the Diamond class at 150cm.
Sheikh Joaan reviews progress of Athletes’ Village Project of Doha 2030 Asian Games
Doha: H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 21st Asian Games – Doha 2030, conducted a field visit today to review the latest developments of the Athletes’ Village Project in Lusail City.H.E. Sheikh Joaan was accompanied by H.E. Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Meer, President of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) and a member of the Doha 2030 Organizing Committee; H.E. Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee and member of the Organizing Committee; and Dr. Ahmad Abdulla Al-Buenain, Chief Executive Officer of the Organizing Committee.During the visit, H.E. Sheikh Joaan was briefed on the ongoing development of the project, which is being delivered in line with the highest international standards to accommodate approximately 18,000 athletes during the Games. The Athletes’ Village will feature integrated infrastructure, modern facilities, and a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet athletes’ needs.The project also reflects a strong commitment to sustainability across both design and operations, while embracing the smart city concept through the adoption of advanced technologies aimed at enhancing quality of life and ensuring efficient management of facilities and services.

Al Arabi edge Al Duhail to secure Qatar Handball Cup 2026
DOHA - Al Arabi secured the Qatar Cup for Handball 2025-26 season with a hard-fought 31-29 win over Al Duhail in the final at the Al Duhail Sports Hall on Monday.Trailing 13-15 at halftime, Al Arabi staged a second-half comeback to overturn the deficit and claim the two-goal win.Second Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari and President of the Qatar Handball Federation (QHF) Ahmed Mohammed Al Shaabi presented the championship trophy and medals to the players.The triumph marks Al Arabi’s third Qatar Handball Cup title, following successes in 2020-2021 and 2023-2024. The club also secured the league and Federation Cup this season, completing a historic treble. Al Arabi now aim to add a fourth domestic trophy by winning the Amir Cup.“Achieving three titles in a single season is an exceptional accomplishment that reflects the hard work of both our technical and administrative staff,” Al Shaabi said.QHF Secretary General Mohammed Jaber Al Mulla added: “Al Arabi deserved the title after a challenging season. Police SC Clinch Qatar Volleyball Cup Title
Doha: Police SC were crowned champions of the Qatar Volleyball Cup (2025–2026) after defeating Al Arabi 3–1 in the final held on Sunday, securing their third title in the competition’s history.H.E. First Vice-President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Mohammed bin Yousef Al Mana, alongside Qatar Volleyball Association President Ali Ghanim Al Kuwari and Vice President of the Qatar Police Sports Federation, Col. Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Thani, presented the trophy, gold medals, and a prize of QAR 600,000 to the champions.Al Arabi, who finished runners-up, received silver medals and QAR 400,000.Police SC made a strong start, claiming the opening set (25–18) with an impressive display that combined powerful attacking play and solid blocking at the net. They maintained their momentum in the second set, overcoming Al Arabi’s attempts to respond and securing it (25–21).Al Arabi bounced back in the third set, showing improved organization and effective blocking to reduce their opponents’ scoring opportunities, taking the set (25–21). However, Police SC regained control in the fourth set, delivering a composed performance to close out the match (25–21) and seal the title.Following the final, H.E.
