The 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup was held in Qatar from 3 to 27 November 2025, the 20th edition and the first played with 48 teams. It was the first time Qatar hosted the event and the third time it was held in the Arab world. Qatar will host the tournament for five editions through 2029.
Forty-eight teams played 104 matches, in which 326 goals were scored. Group and knockout matches were held on eight pitches at the Aspire Zone in Al Rayyan, and the final at Khalifa International Stadium. Total attendance was 100,073. Morocco's 16-0 win over New Caledonia was the largest margin in any 11-a-side FIFA World Cup match.
Portugal beat Austria 1-0 in the final to win their first U-17 World Cup title, with Anisio Cabral scoring the winner. Italy finished third, beating Brazil on penalties. Portugal's Mateus Mide won the Golden Ball, and Austria's Johannes Moser was top scorer with 8 goals. Defending champions Germany were eliminated in the round of 32.
